Learn Spanish Fast and Free
Time is a commodity these days, and rightfully so. People have never had busier schedules, more demanding deadlines, and more places to go than they do at this point in time. Learning a language, like everything else, must simply be done faster!
On top of the necessity to learn in a hurry, many people are finding that they don’t have wads of money lying around to pay for expensive Spanish tutorials. With the economy being where it is right now, spending hundreds of dollars to learn a new language is just not an option for most of us.
So what do you do if you need to learn Spanish fast and free? Fortunately, there are unlimited opportunities to learn a new language quickly, especially with all the information to be found on the internet.
If you have absolutely decided that you cannot spend any money, the first thing to do is to find a respected Spanish software that offers a free trial period or set of lessons.
Visual Link Spanish will let you take the first three lessons completely free. Rocket Spanish offers a free six day course that will give you three audio lessons, including the corresponding grammar and culture lessons.
Of course, the point of these programs is to get you to sign up for the rest of the course, but if you are serious about not spending money, you could do these just to get started without finishing either program.
There are many good Spanish vocabulary sites that will let you browse through their word database. This is helpful if you have specific words that you are interested in learning, or you know certain words pertaining to your reason for learning Spanish (i.e. if you are going on vacation in Mexico, you could look up words you think you’ll use during your stay).
On the same note, you can find many English-Spanish/Spanish-English translators online that can translate whole sentences for you.
If you would actually like to learn the language instead of a few words and phrases, you’ll need to find a software package or audio program of some sort. You could just buy a book, and even with an audio program books can be helpful. However, reading a book will not give you a completely accurate idea as how to correctly pronounce what you’re reading and you may find yourself looking quite foolish when you first attempt speaking Spanish.
You could always check ebay or even craigslist for someone selling their old Spanish teaching cassette tapes or CD’s. The problem with these, though, is that they can be cumbersome to drag around with you and not easy to fit into small bits of time, especially if you have to learn Spanish quickly.
If I had to learn Spanish fast and free, I would start by finding the best product for the amount of money I had available. There are many software packages today that don’t cost three and four hundred dollars just for the first part. In fact, many of them cost less than one hundred.
As I said before, if spending money is absolutely not an option, then you’ll have to do as well as you can using what free resources you can find on the internet or from your library. However, if you can spare just a little bit, I think you’ll find you’ll save time and, in the end, money, if you purchase a quality software program.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope that you reach your goal of learning Spanish quickly. The benefits of knowing another language are sure to continue for the rest of your life.
