Spanish Learning Software

Don’t get me wrong.  A learn Spanish book is essential to any student of the Spanish language, but it won’t teach you everything you need to know to speak Spanish well.

The most obvious reason why a book isn’t enough on its own is that it cannot teach you correct pronunciation.  It can give you a good idea, but to really learn the proper way to speak, you need to have audio files or CD’s to listen to. 

To really have a well-rounded Spanish education, the best way to go is to find a comprehensive software package with a variety of components designed to help you learn in different ways.

Many software packages available right now offer such options as audio files, text files, self-quizzes and tests, games, verb builders, vocabulary builders, etc.  The list goes on and on. 

Never before have so many components of classroom Spanish been available for use at home in the comfort of your own living room.  Certainly, reading a learn Spanish book would be helpful, but why stop there? 

If you are serious about learning Spanish, a full tutorial is an absolute must.  Of course, the problem for many people is that these packages often cost several hundreds dollars, sometimes for only the first few levels! 

Do your shopping.  You will be amazed at the different learn Spanish programs you can find for less than a hundred dollars.  Make sure that you carefully research the different components included with each program you look at.

Some packages focus on audio to the exclusion of other beneficial items like games or quizzes.  Others require you to buy an actual hard copy, costing you more money.  Find a reputable software that can be downloaded for immediate use.

Some programs even offer a free trial period or set of lessons.  This can be invaluable to see if that program works well with your learning style.  If you don’t like it, you can always look for another option without ever having to commit. 

If you are still interested in buying some learn Spanish books, invest in ones that can be used in conjunction with a good teaching package.  A Spanish dictionary is a must-have and you may even consider buying an up-to-date book with some slang in it, such as the Alternative Spanish Dictionary.  A book about verb conjugation can be helpful as well, especially for the serious Spanish student. 

For the beginning Spanish student, consider purchasing some simple children’s books written in Spanish to try reading yourself.  You will be amazed at how much you can actually learn from these books.  Remember, when you learned to read English you read the same books in your own language.  Why would Spanish be any different?

Don’t forget that reading is a huge part of learning any language and many learn Spanish books can be very valuable.  However, keep in mind that it is important to include other methods of learning as well.
